Hegseth Accused of ‘Lying to the American Public’ About War in Iran
Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth and top general Dan Caine faced lawmakers for the first time since the Iran war began, as the Trump administration seeks a record $1.5 trillion defense budget. With the conflict already costing $25 billion and straining military resources, Hegseth defended the war while controversial purges of senior military leaders fueled criticism and raised questions about leadership and loyalty. Katherine Kuzminski, director of studies at the Center for a New American Security joins the conversation.
