Ms. Ha Nguyen currently serves as Director of the Asia/Pacific portfolio at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate, International Cooperative Programs Office. She helps provide the strategic framework to establish and maintain partnerships in the region that support homeland security research and development.

Previously, as Director in the Executive Office of the President’s Office of the U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator, she worked with the U.S. Government interagency community to issue the first Joint Strategic Plan on Intellectual Property Enforcement and led the effort to implement several initiatives, including pursuing new border enforcement authorities.

Ms. Nguyen formerly worked in the Office of Policy at DHS, as Policy Advisor and Team Lead on trade policy and as Policy Advisor for the Asia/Pacific region. She was responsible for coordinating DHS’s trade security and safety-related equities and advancing them in the interagency process. As Policy Advisor for Asia/Pacific, she helped craft the Department’s regional engagement strategy.

Ms. Nguyen received a Master in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She completed Bachelor degrees in International Studies and Music/Piano Performance at the University of California, Irvine.
