Helmy Eltoukhy is a technology entrepreneur, inventor, and investor whose work has helped pioneer advances in genetic sequencing and cancer diagnostics. He is co-founder, chairman, and co-CEO of Guardant Health, a leading precision oncology company he co-founded in 2012. Previously, he co-founded Avantome, a DNA sequencing company that was acquired by Illumina in 2008.
Eltoukhy is also an active investor involved with more than 30 technology and healthcare startups and is an owner and co-chairman of Sheffield United Football Club. He serves on the board of Stanford Health Care and is actively involved in philanthropy supporting cancer research and scientific discovery, including through board roles with the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the SETI Institute.
He has been recognized by TIME as one of the world’s most influential people in health, by Fortune in its 40 Under 40, and by the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer. A named inventor on more than 100 patents, Eltoukhy holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
