MAJ José Andres Machuca is an active-duty Air Force officer, currently serving as an operations planner for United States Air Forces – Cyber Command. In his present role, he facilitates cybersecurity efforts in support of United States Air Force and Combatant Command requirements. Previously, he led a cyber intelligence unit focused on surveillance and threat analysis for the Air Force Information Network. His military service spans various operational areas, including Europe, the Middle East, and Korea.

José's educational background includes a MS in Global Security Studies from Angelo State University and a BA in International Relations from the University of Texas at Austin. Furthermore, he holds a certificate in Business, International Relations, and Political Economy from the London School of Economics and a certificate in Machine Learning in Business from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a member of National Defense University’s Program for Emerging Leaders, and most recently was selected for the prestigious Defense Ventures Fellowship, where he advocated for venture capital investments in startups supporting national security.
