Tim Sullivan is a research fellow in the Foreign and Defense Policy Studies department of the American Enterprise Institute, where he studies terrorism, insurgency, and security sector reform issues in South Asia and the Horn of Africa. Tim also manages AEIs Center for Defense Studies, an arm of the Institute which focuses on defense budget and programmatic issues. Previously, Tim served as a research assistant at AEI, during which time he contributed to studies on security force assistance and NATOs efforts in Afghanistan. He has published articles on national security affairs in AEIs Outlook series, The Weekly Standard, and Small Wars Journal. He holds a B.A. in political science from Boston College and is pursuing a masters degree in security studies at Georgetown.
