In his role as Senior Policy Manager, Tommy leads our AI policy unit’s work on mitigating extreme risks from AI through sound policymaking.
From academic research and product development, to policy and advocacy, he brings to CLTR over 10 years of experience leading teams working on technological risks and has worked on AI since 2018.
Prior to joining CLTR, Tommy previously worked at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, where he led a team delivering a £10m programme to develop novel AI techniques to analyse disinformation impacting UK national security, alongside conducting risk assessments of epistemic risks from frontier AI and developing policy responses.
His academic research examines AI incidents and how they can be monitored and actioned, as part of his PhD programme at King’s College London. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cambridge.
