National Security Has a Human Capital Problem and There’s No Fast Way Out
National security doesn’t really exist without the military forces and supporting civilians to carry it out. Recruitment remains a problem for the armed forces. And there’s a lot of stress on the civilian workforce at the moment. For some ways forward, the Federal Drive with Tom Temin turned to someone who’s examined national security human capital in detail: Katherine Kuzminski, the director of studies at the Center for a New American Security.
