Investing in National Security

A note from Richard Fontaine and Michèle Flournoy

As 2025 draws to a close, we thank you for your steadfast support of the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). This has been a year of extraordinary transition and change, from a new administration and new policies, to the debates surrounding America’s role in the world, to the accelerating pace at which advanced technologies are reshaping our national security.

This year, CNAS met the moment. We released The First 100 Days to guide the new administration on critical issues, published our Global Swing States report identifying six nations that will shape the future of international order, and deepened our work on AI, drone warfare, and U.S.-China technology competition, among many other areas.

This brief video message reflects on the year at CNAS and the important work that lies ahead.

The year ahead demands exactly the kind of bipartisan, forward-thinking solutions that CNAS provides. Your support makes this work possible.

As we approach 2026 and the holiday season, we invite you to continue your support of CNAS. Your contribution ensures we can continue developing the bold, pragmatic solutions America needs to navigate an increasingly complex world.
