Trump Renews Push to Annex Greenland, Tensions Rise
European allies issued statements supporting Denmark and Greenland's sovereignty, warning forcible takeover could endanger NATO. Danish PM Mette Frederiksen reiterated Greenland is not for sale and Trump should be taken seriously. Greenlandic leaders and locals expressed fear and rejection of U.S. ambitions. U.S. congressional figures, including Rand Paul, opposed military options. US forces seized sanctioned oil tankers in the North Atlantic, unrelated to Greenland but amid heightened tensions. CNAS Program Director Lisa Curtis joined NDTV to discuss President Donald Trump's recent push to annex Greenland.
