Avi Panth is an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia. As a federal prosecutor, Avi prosecutes cases involving white collar/financial crimes, public corruption, and child exploitation, among other crimes.

Previously, Avi was an active-duty Navy officer with Naval Reactors, a joint U.S. Navy and Department of Energy agency. Avi began as a Nuclear Power Research Project Officer, responsible for the strategy, design, and implementation of shipbuilding and industrial manufacturing initiatives for Virginia Class submarine electronics platforms. Avi later became a congressional liaison and advisor to the Director of Naval Reactors on legislative and programmatic issues.

Originally from Northern Virginia, Avi graduated from Duke University, where he majored in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Public Policy. Avi also got his master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Avi is also a graduate of the U.S. Navy’s Bettis Reactor Engineering School.
