David Dee

David Dee is a former Joseph S. Nye, Jr. Intern for the Asia-Pacific Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).

Prior to joining CNAS, David interned at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy in Beijing where he researched various Chinese economic and security policies in Northeast and Southeast Asia. David has also worked in analytical roles in the financial services industry.

David graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and completed a graduate certificate in International Relations at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). He also has nearly 15 years of experience living abroad in Singapore, London, and Hong Kong. David’s research interests include Asia's infrastructure competition, North Korea, China's military modernization, and Southeast Asia’s growing role in geopolitics, among others.
