Derek Smith

Derek has co-founded several start-ups which he built as CEO including the market-defining cybersecurity companies Oakley Networks (the first Data Leak Prevention company) which was acquired by Raytheon and is now a foundational part of Forcepoint; and Shape Security (the first bot defense company) which was acquired by F5. Derek also served as Senior Advisor for Cyber-Policy at the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the Pentagon. Derek is currently the CEO of Mimic, cybersecurity firm that provides enterprises with detection, deflection, and rapid recovery from ransomware attacks.
