EmilyGrace Mate is a combat aviation brigade air operations officer. She just completed a deployment in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. As the air operations officer, she managed all rotary wing assets in theater and assisted with base closures in Iraq. In Afghanistan she flew multiple missions and managed a tactical operations center. She is trained on the OH-58, UH-60 and CH-47 aircraft. She is also a military intelligence officer.

Previously, Captain Mate worked project management and business development on Naval Aviation programs. She has several years with Lockheed Martin working proposals, most significantly on the Persistent Threat Detection System (PTDS). Captain Mate was also a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt for Lockheed Martin.

Her most recent education includes the Legislative Affairs program from the Government Affairs Institute at Georgetown University. She holds an M.B.A as well as two bachelors’ degrees in finance from The University of Akron.
