Tyler is the manager for international intelligence programs at Starbucks Coffee Company, where he advises the company’s international markets on geopolitical risk, business development, market forecasting, and reputational due diligence. Prior to Starbucks, Tyler was a Senior Associate at Beacon Global Strategies, a strategic advisory firm specializing in international policy, and a speechwriter and aide to General Stanley McChrystal at the McChrystal Group. He began his career in defense policy, first as part of the Afghanistan policy team within the Office of the Secretary of Defense before deploying to Afghanistan as an Army civilian intelligence advisor to the leadership of the 82nd Airborne and 3rd Infantry Divisions. He earned his BA from the University of Virginia and his MPP from Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy, where he was a Carlucci National Security Fellow.
