N. Korea Hardens Nuclear Stance at UN, Hints at Selective Diplomacy

Seven years after disappearing from the UN’s main stage, North Korea returned — and made sure the world listened. Vice Minister Kim Son-kyong stood before the General Assembly and declared: “Giving up our nuclear weapons would be surrendering our sovereignty and our survival.” No room for denuclearization, no direct mention of the U.S. — but a door left slightly open to countries that “respect” Pyongyang.
