AI is the most transformative technology of our lifetimes, bestowing potentially decisive military, economic, and scientific advantages to nations that best harness its potential. The Tech Program conducts wide-ranging policy research to secure and extend America’s AI leadership, such as identifying bottlenecks to continued progress such as energy and computing infrastructure, developing governance frameworks that balance innovation and risk management, and developing a strategy to scale AI partnerships and adoption abroad rooted in democratic values as a counter to China’s emerging techno-authoritarianism.
